A hardened criminal, Mithal Bosan alias Mithli wanted in 31 cases of murder, dacoities and kidnapping for ransom was killed in a police encounter in the precincts of Fazilpur police station of district Rajanpur on Thursday. According to a police spokesman Punjab, a police team led by DSP Saddar Rajanpur conducted a raid to his hideout. On seeing the police, Mithal and his accomplices opened fire on the policemen. The police retaliated the fire as a result Mithal died on the spot while his accomplices managed to flee from the scene.

The spokesman said that Rajanpur police is conducting raids for the arrest of the culprits who managed to escape during the encounter.

Mithli, the ringleader of Bosan gang, had been responsible for various criminal activities in the districts of Muzaffargarg, Rajan, D.G. Khan, Bahawalpur and Rahimyar Khan.
